Six Flags/Boardwalk Trip Part 1: Park Itself and a Burger I Got There

Hey everyone! I recently went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom! I brought my 3DS and took like a gazillion pictures, a lot of which will be in this multi-post blog thing. Enjoy. These are not always in any particular order, sorry. The posts are going to be short.

We went to this cool butterfly garden at one point. It was super humid, and I saw these like, monstrously sized butterflies and took a pic.

They had frequent billboards (not the high-up kind, they were kind of standing up from the ground) advertising these chips/snacks called Takis that my dad seemed to be excited about. Every one had a picture of some person making a real weird face while holding a Takis bag.

When I rode Medusa for the 2nd or 3rd time, I managed to pull my 3DS out to take a picture of the seats in front of me.
On that same ride, you could see a green spray paint can far down below if you looked before the floor came back. I just barely got it in the picture, but in its 2D form, unfortunately, it isn't visible.
Near the beginning of the day, we went to this "Cirque Dreams Splashtastic" show. I didn't really want to go at first, but it turned out to be worth watching. It was basically like dance, acrobatics, trapeze stuff, and a small amount of water. Ironically, my mom, the one who dragged us all into it, didn't even like the show as much. She thought it was gonna be some kind of dolphin show, even though the only dolphin stuff actually mentioned in Six Flags' promotions for it was "...featuring aerialists, acrobats, and dolphins." You did see a dolphin or two in the show, and for whatever reason they had pink bellies. Anyway, my mom went on and on later about how it was disappointing that there were barely any dolphins and we didn't get to learn their names or anything or whatever.
We went to this awesome place called Johnny Rockets inside the park for lunch. Man the burgers were greasy! They were pretty good, but still! The pictures are an understatement!
Seriously. You can see it shining off the burger. Again, the pics aren't fully capturing the full shiny greasiness of this burger.
By the time someone offered me fries, I'd already thrown away my plate, so I used someone's map instead.
By the time I finished my burger, this had dripped off of it. I wiped it off with my finger, thinking it would be liquid, but it turned out to be this thick, gross stuff with a consistency I can't describe. I can't remember where I wiped it.
That's it for now. Next episode: Boardwalk and Awesome Arcade

Family Circuit/ファミリーサーキット CIB (Collective in Box)

Sorry for not posting this a week earlier, I was at Boy Scout camp all last week and after that I just got lazy. Anyway ~ Woohoo! Greatest deal ever! I can't remember the seller's name but thank them very much! My luck might even be reaching the level  of luck that Famicomblog once had with awesome retrogaming deals. I just got a copy of namco(t)'s Family Circuit collective in box for only like 9 bucks on eBay! Unfortunately, it doesn't work well. I noticed that, unlike my Gundam games, it would exhibit one odd behavior that no other game I've experienced had; whenever I turned the game on, it might go into Mic Mode(my FC games behave differently every time the FC is turned on or hard-resetted, and I give names to the different forms of glitchiness), where the TV would go all staticky with horizontal static lines of B and W and emit a generic blow-into-the-mic noise whenever the 2nd controller's microphone picked up any noise. The weirdest yet most logical part is, the lines get thicker and the static louder as the volume is turned up or more sound is detected. Anyway, here's some pics:

The box is a lot smaller than it looks; I'd say it's the same size as or smaller
than a 3DS XL. Yes, it's seriously that small.

It came with the game, manual, label sticker sheet(all namcot-or
BANDAI-branded Famicom games came with a sticker sheet with 3 stickers:
One with just the game's name written in Japanese, one with the game's logo
and decorative stuff, and a blank one to write your own label. each said "namcot"
at the top.),  namcot misc. advertisement flyer, and letter form addressed to namco.

The back. If you haven't noticed, the front cover has the spine on the right
and vice versa. This is because Japanese books and stuff are read right-to-left.
I'm starting to think that the problem is the RF switch, since both the Famicom and Family Circuit were listed as "tested and working." Since my Famicom deal didn't include an RF switch, I'd just been using the NES' for now. Anyone know where I can get a Famicom RF switch? All the eBay listings are for Super Famicom RF switches, not regular FC ones. Someone please help me get my FC to work...

So I got some stuff on Saturday

This last Saturday I just went to A-1 Comics and GameStop and got two items. Normally, most people would consider this normal, but not me. My only chance to go to places where stuff can be bought are the weekly grocery trips (which I don't attend) and the occasional bimonthly trip to Target. A-1 Comics I NEVER get to go to because it's like a super long ride from my house to there. I'm not sure why we don't go to GameStop often. Usually I don't buy stuff at either place, because a) there's nothing I want (this only happens at GS, because A1 always has an amazing selection of awesome stuff) or b) everything costs too much. But I still had some birthday money left over from buying the Famicom that I never spent this time, so I was barely able to get a copy of CoD MW2 CIB (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 collective in box [not new and sealed, but the manuals, disc, case, etc. are included]). I normally have no interest in shooter games, especially post-1986 ones, but my friends were insisting that I get this one. At A1 I got a new Gundam model. That would be my 3rd. Pictures below.

The 3 Gundams I have so far.
I often stack them so they're easier to store.
This is what the new one looks like built.

This is what happened when I took a picture of the box with my 3DS set to Low Light.
A lot of the stuff appears to be taken from the Sgt. Frog anime (my all-time favorite!).

This is not unlikely, Gundam is referenced in just about every episode.
I also staged a boxing fight since all 3 have been built. Mr. 7 Swords is
refereeing because he is as fragile as heck and wouldn't last a second
as a contender.

Ding ding ding! "Endless Waltz wins!" Probably from the enormous
size advantage (EW is on a 1/100 scale, the other two are 1/144).
Yeah... with summer here, I might have too much time on my hands.

My New Famicom (Family Computer)

My new game system, the Nintendo Famicom!

Awesome controllers! Notice that #II has a microphone and a speaker.

NES-FC controller comparison. (For those not in the know, the NES is the American version of the Japanese Famicom.)

For now it just sits on the NES.

FC-NES cartridge comparison. Notice the ridiculous size difference. "I hate it when I buy a plastic container of air and a NES game is inside."

So I just bought a Nintendo Famicom from Japan with my birthday money. About time it came, it took like 20 days to get here after it shipped. Unfortunately, I can't play it, as the 3 games I have for it don't seem to be working. I know that the games, not the system, are broken because a) The FC was listed as 'tested & working' when I bought it, b) the games were not, and c) the way it glitches out differs between games. One actually works, it's just that it has messed-up visuals and the game's sound turns off once the game starts. One game shows a recognizable title screen and is messed-up weirdness beyond that. The last game is just fuzzy. I'll have to pick up some namcot games (probably Dig Dug or Mappy, as those are personal favorites and are FC-only games [meaning they never got imported to the US]). Read more here. (I linked to the Japanese page because if you look up 'Famicom' on English Wikipedia, it redirects to the NES' page; like I said before, the Family Computer and Nintendo Entertainment System are basically the same system for different regions.)

Youtube Poop

So I just got Windows Movie Maker and I have made a YouTube Poop with various scenes from Wreck-it Ralph. I can't use visual gags, as I haven't figured out how to paste pics into scenes yet. I did add captions though. Check it out! It's totally clean, unless you consider Felix saying "potty" bad. My favorite quotes from this: " 'Anything to declare?' 'Lara Croft!' 'I get that a lot.' " "I can't spend a medal. I CAN spend garbage! I'm not going back without garbage!" "Do you have any idea what chocolate milk mix put me through?" "I've been all over RoadBlasters looking for dynamite with you...and then?! I got thrown in jail!" "I've never been serious about anything in my life. That's why I came straight here." 8/16/2013 Update: updated video.

Robotic Operating Buddy: A Day In The Life Of

This is R.O.B., a citizen of the Rec Room. Note that he happens to be a robot.

Here he is sharing a soda with his best friend, the Pooka. This along with candy bars composes their usual meals.

These are some of his other friends. They don't really do much. (From left to right: Mushroom, Sonic, R.O.B., ElecMan.)

R.O.B. mostly plays video games all day, his living area is filled with them. (Update: This picture got onto Taste of Awesome [http://www.tasteofawesome.com/] and got a 3-tier caption chain!)

Today it seems he fell asleep playing  Gyromite last night. Again.

Pooka woke him up and now they're trying to figure out how to read, I think. Maybe they just like the pictures.

R.O.B. wants to play this fun-looking game but alas, his short arms don't reach the controls.

He ends the day the way it started: playing the NES.

Of course he falls asleep doing so...
Yes! I have a post featuring the Robotic Operating Buddy, my favorite robot. This post is actually sort of parodying a post from another blog (called Famicomblog), and if you want to see the original post then here's a link. The original post looks at the
ファミリーコンピュータ ロボット (Family Computer Robot), R.O.B.'s Japanese cousin. They are pretty much twins, except the FR has red arms and a more yellowish skin tone. Read more here.

LBP2

These are some pictures I'm posting so that I can give someone a link to them. They're pictures of different things I've made in LittleBigPlanet 2.

I might write more on this later.
