Gundam update

I finished my Wing Gundam yesterday, it was super easy to build. Easier than the others by a lot. I'll update this post with pictures soon.

In other Gundam news, I won the Midyear 2013 Campaign!

Yeah, one of the models I got at SacAnime (2 posts down), the Wing one I think, came with this code when I bought it. Not like it was in the box, but the store clerk gave it to me. I was to enter it at the Gundam Info website to enter a contest. I selected the "RG Special Set," and won it! Here's what I'm gonna be getting by mail:

Yeah. 11 Real Grade models. I can't believe my luck! (UPDATE: Apparently, these 11 are the only Real Grade models that have been released yet. So when I get them, I'll technically have every Real Grade model ever! Except unreleased ones.)

Retrogaming blog

Ok, remember when I said long ago that I'd make separate blogs for retrogaming, LBP2, and misc. stuff? I finally did it. So, go here for the LBP2 blog and here for my retrogaming one. The LBP2 blog doesn't include everything, sorry about that. It's just a wiki one at the moment. The retrogaming one is full-on though, even if it has no posts since I haven't gotten any new games since SacAnime.

A Post Filled With Lots of Stuff, All Stemming From My Trip To SacAnime

Ok, so get this: I went to SacAnime on Saturday! Woohoo! I didn't get to do as much as I originally hoped, but it was an amazing trip nonetheless. I didn't get a lot of pictures from the convention, or the vendors, but it did get sufficient coverage of some other stuff.

More burger pictures, yay. Just like the Six Flags post(s).

Why is this a picture? The drink isn't nearly as interesting as the rest.

Very shiny, but not as much as the Johnny Rockets burger from Six Flags.

My dad went dressed as the Riddler, and sometimes (well, more often than sometimes) people also dressed as Batman characters would pose with him. The guy on the left is the Scarecrow, I think.

We found a Harley Quinn also when we went to the vendor area.

There was even a huge group of people going as Mario characters.

We saw them multiple times.

This was my favorite cosplayer out of the gajillions that I saw. Amazingly accurate costume, makeup, even that one pose (it's a freeze-frame bonus) from the movie.

I also got to see Charles Martinet!!! The guy who voices Mario!!!

It's hard to see him in this picture, he just looks like a bright white blob, but it's him!

I also got 3 new games at an awesome vendor that sold NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and PS2 games. Greatest finds ever, they were relatively cheap. I wish I had more money. Pictured is Burgertime (NES).

I also got Pinball (NES), although sadly it was a 3-screw.

The games at the vendor were organized with only their labels showing. It took me a while to spot Burgertime, and even longer to spot Pinball.

I have played this game for incredible amounts of time on end. (♪~Burgers! Burgers! It's all we have in mind! We make the best, you better get in line... You want it on a tray? Is it for here or to go? Any which way it tastes good you know!~♪)

Oh yeah, Pinball's enjoyable too.

Aand the 3rd game. This is the A2600 version if you can't tell. (The A2600, Colecovision, and C64 versions' cartridges all look the exact same. Not joking.) Sorry about the picture quality.

The label, if you can tell, is very...indescribably unclean. It has like these spots or blotches of grease-stuff that I can't identify on the label. It's like that stuff you find in old dictionaries.

Have I mentioned how often the RR's TVs have picture problems? Well, it's very often.

You definitely can't tell from this picture, but I actually moved all my Famicom games to the shelf next to the boxed games because I ran out of room in that SNES cartridge holder that also holds NES cartridges and previously Famicom cartridges.

You know WHAT ELSE I got at SacAnime? (MY MOM! No, not really.) 2 new Gunpla (I used to call them 'Gundam models' as Keroro does, but apparently 'Gunpla' is the official name, no matter how goofy it sounds.)

And at great prices too! The pictured one (Wing) was like $7.63, and the other one was $15.00. Makes me feel like A-1 Comics was ripping me off every time they sold me or my parents a model for $30+.

Anyway, I bought the one with the B&W box because I thought ^THIS was what I was getting: The famous RX-78-2 with the trademark Roger Rabbit-esque color scheme. What you instantly think of when you hear "Gundam."

But no, I got something else because of this weird little 'Ecopla' thing that I'd never heard of. I looked it up, and apparently, it's a series of eco-friendly Gunpla models where the plastic is made of all the leftover stuff from the regular, dedicated (for lack of a better word) models. This gives the pieces a...unique...look that you'll see in the next picture.

Yep...every piece is completely black. It's still the same RX-78-2, but like half the recognizability of that one (for me, anyways) comes from the distinguished color scheme. It's a cool thing, really, Ecopla; it's just that I was caught off-guard and expected a full-color thing. I guess I should have thought something was up seeing the B&W box. (By the way, does that pose remind you of the Overly Manly Man meme? It does for me.)

On the bright side, all the weapons look almost the same considering they would've just been gray. Those beam swords look more lightsabery than ever! The only majorly discolored things in this photo are the shield and the little ship that was included for some reason.

For some reason, I wasn't too good at placing the decals here. In fact, that's an understatement. That's probably my worst decal job ever, and I bet it'll stay that way for a long time.

I also staged another fight-match-thing in my room like when I got the something-something-Zaku II. This time, Endless Waltz (that's as awkward to type as it is to read) was the referee because of his (Hers? Its?) extreme size advantage.

Oh...it's just a difficult-to-make-out (again, sorry about picture quality) rock-paper-scissors duel. (Fun fact: I swapped Zaku II's hand for a spare hand of Seven Swords' because that was the only model with a spare hand that looked like it was throwing an RPS besides rock or a one-finger scissors.)

Paper beats rock! Zaku II wins!

Ok, that's it for now. I really regret forgetting to take pictures of the vendor area, they had like this one store fulla Gundam and nothing but and it was so cool. So many awesome vendors like that. Ok, I'll post when I finish Wing. I looked at the boards and it looked easy, but then I saw the manual; It's the most complicated enclosed instruction book ever.
